I don't even know what the crap I'm drawing half the time until it's halfway done. Most of my stuff starts with a doodled line on a paper, and then I build off of it until it starts to look like something. It's a great way to loosen up and have fun with your art~
Computer games (especially Mount & Blade, which has A LOT of excellent mods, some for which I draw some fanart), articles/stories about battles/campaigns/wars, historical novels, and the occasional movie (like 'Kingdom of Heaven', which inspired me to draw my interpretation of one of its 'bad guys' just because I HATE how that movie portrayed an interesting (and rather badass) historical personality ).
100% of my inspiration comes from artists here on dA. Before DeviantArt, I took inspiration solely from comic-books. I didn't have the variety I needed to improve my art. But here, there are so many different artists and styles and it all inspires my tremendously. If it weren't for dA, my art wouldn't be like it is now. I'm thankful for this website.
My inspiration comes from wanting to be able to mesmerize people with what I can do. It's not about being the best, for me it's about improving. I love a good comment or two on something that I did even if it's not all that great. My inspiration comes from wanting to get better at what I do so I can always look back and see what I improved on in the first place.
step one read homestuck it has seriously inspired so many god damn things for me step two JUST LISTEN TO THEIR FUCKING MUSIC i mean MY GOD all of the tracks made for that thing are simply amazing step three you'll know what to do from here
no that defeats the ENTIRE FREAKING POINT! i can link you to some videos where people do good voice acting for it and add sound effects makes it less boring though also i couldn't "summarize" it if i wanted to it's just not something you can do that to XD [link]
