Portrait concept bad idea?

Holovolovos Featured By Owner Nov 7, 2012

I had an idea for a portrait of a gay politician here in Australia that depicts the person as having 2 spirits. 2 spirit I believe is the term used by native North Americans for non-heterosexual people. I like the concept of 2 spirits but it hit me that the portrait could also be interpreted as a politician being 2 faced.

Is it a bad idea?

Depends on the execution. Mock it up and post it, then ask people.

People will always interpret it differently. You can at least nudge them in the direction you want to an extent by how you portray the person in your portrait. Elements like composition, pose, colour choice, expression, lighting would help in a way what you are trying to do.

Thumbnail it out first if your unsure of your idea.

Your goal is to show that he has to have to elements to himself, that which he must hide and that which he can share with the public? It would be hard to differentiate that from making him seem two-faced, in my opinion.
