does anyone know anything about transferring laserjet ink to paper?

for a project in school, i am attempting to transfer images printed off a laserjet printer to newsprint. my teacher described a method in rubbing either acetone, citrusolv (an all-purpose cleaner, or lacquer thinner on the back of the printer paper to get the ink to bleed onto our chosen surface (in this case, my newsprint. however, i am concerned that the liquid will damage/discolor my newsprint. does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing?

Test it first. Newsprint is very smeary so it might smudge. My brother uses Eucalyptus oil to transfer laser prints.

i tried it with the orange cleaner, and it stained and smeared every single page. i'll definitely look into the eucalyptus oil. thanks for the tip!

I've done transfers to nicer papers with no issue. Your newsprint should be fine.
