Looking for some manga/anime style tutorials for animation.

Hi I am trying to draw and animate a set of assets for video, game, cartoon usage. After seeing this video : [link] I am trying to replicate some of the animators drawing style. Why you may ask? One I think it's really cool and two it helps hone my own personal skills. I have having trouble drawing/animating some of the effects I want to replicate though so I am out looking for tutorials on how to draw specific these specific things:

Blood Spray- Seen throughout the video
Blood Pool - 1:39
Smoke and Explosion- 0:46

I tried doing my own version of the blood pool and even when I use the same color palette i cannot get the shading right :/

That's a pretty wtf video lol..wasn't sure what I was watching when I saw kids with toy guns, but then the smoke and effects happened xD. There's a lot of painstaking match-moving done in this video, especially with the blood pool. The best way to do it is look at it frame by frame and break down what they drew. And looking at real footage of explosions, liquid spraying (in general), explosions, smoke billowing etc. will show you how these elements behave. Flash frames are great for these kinds of effects. I've been animating a few of these myself lately....
