Does A tablet size Hinder you??

:iconpramodace:
I work with the smallest Bamboo available but after seeing some talented artists work on the Cintiq i do feel they have an edge at producing better work and becoming better than their equal talents languishing with other smaller tablets....Is this true?? Something just makes me sad when i think about it....:(

Also Why the Heck is the Cintiq Priced over my entire fortune ??? Lol....And why is there no other company giving Wacom a run for their money?? They can send a Rover to mars but Artists still have to wait a 100 years to get an affordable tablet... Hmmmm...didnt know artists were sooo underated....Can DA please start a company to produce Tablets...LOL...(Imaginations of a Depraved Mind)

here's the Deal....Lets stop discussing around in the gray Area...Does a Bigger tablet (Given A Good enough skill Level) Help towards making an artists Final Product better?

My answer is Yes!!
People give some credit to the Hardware too... :)

Also Does anyone know of a Good Alternative to Wacom Line of products...Please share only if you own or use one... :)

I wont use small tablets. I find it too difficult to draw on such a small workspace. I have a capax technology tablet (worth about $200, its almost A3 size, but the work area of it is about A4,so theres plenty of room for me to be loose and free with my line work. Its also nice and sturdy.

Having said that, unless i was drawing full time on the PC for a job i would go buying the huge wacom tablets, theres not much need for something that involved if drawing is just a hobby.

it's quite old. maybe not in production. Ive seen an almost identcle one to it (Except black) by Genius.
Try the searching for the Genius G-Pen m712x. When my one eventually dies i'll buy one of those.

I think it is fine to have a small drawing tablet although a bigger tablet would give you a little more space and usually a bit more pressure sensitivity. If you don't mind zooming in for details it is fine. Better tools will only make it more convenient, not hinder or improve the artist.if it was that easy everyone that used Photoshop would be a master artist :D

also you can try to get your hands on a old ipad with a nice stylus, it doesn't have pressure sensitivity but has a huge drawing space and a insanely awesome paint program called 'Procreate'(exports to psd format and everything), and would be MUCH cheaper then a Cintiq.

I also use the super small bamboo tablet. It's actually worked out very well for me. I tend to build up the painting using small hatch-like marks (as opposed to large flowing strokes), so I don't mind having a small surface. I would be curious to try a medium tablet, but I think a large would be too big for me. I have also heard that drawing a Cintiq is faster because of the increased precision, but I've never tried one so I don't know.

About the time spent zooming in and out, what I do is I have the file open in two windows in Photoshop - one big window where it's zoomed in to the size I need, and one smaller one zoomed out to about the size it will be seen online when it's finished. That way I can see as I'm drawing how the changes will appear in the finished product.

I got a huge tablet, is even bigger than my laptop. I wouldnt mind wasting extra money on another big one if something happened to it. Mine is a wacom by the way.
