When you postpone getting started on artwork for others? And than you post personal artwork for yourself instead of the request? I feel like that all the time, like when I get people who want to commission me I feel terrible when I don't get to their request first. >_< I mean it will get done no matter what but I just feel like people will hate seeing me post my personal art first. D: Ever feel that way? ;~;
When you take a job, discuss the terms of the project, the payment and the anticipated deadlines for rough drafts and completed work. Deliver those on time and you never have to feel guilty.
I don't feel guilty as long as I send my clients progress work. Because then they'll know I'm working on the project rather than putting it off for the sake of my own, personal work.
...Not really I mean, I'll get it done, right? If I don't feel like doing that work, and I want to do something else, I go draw something else. If I'm not in the mood to draw their art it'll just look terrible. So it's best to wait until I feel motivated.
Yes, it's true. But I learned some time ago that it's better to work on commission when you feel motivation for it and the work on a commission will make you happy, than when you'd hate to work on it for some reason. I usually make some personal artworks to find motivation for working on commissioned ones. And I prefer not to hurry but do my best with every commissioned work.
lol it's true, i don't like when someone posts several personal pieces before they're done with art they owe me!! >___< a little bit of personal art is fine though, i do that too!
