Have any tips and/or tricks on how to make oil paint last longer when it is out of the tube?
I have been painting with oil paints but I find that I'm wasting a lot of paint as it only lasts about four days when out on a glad-wrap wrapped plastic plate.
I've not used oil paint, but when I was using guache and needed to save paint, placing it in a small container with seran wrap over it worked just fine for me.
Consider you're environment that you paint in. If it's more humid in the room the paint won't dry as fast. Also you could consider getting a palette with a lid rather than just some wrapping.
I do the freezer trick, but I also spritz a bit of turpentine onto the paint/palate before I cover it. Seems to keep the moisture level up a little bit in the paint.
i heard that oil paint is a chemical oxidization or something so keeping it out of heat (slows chemical reaction) and with no oxygen is good. (like a freezer like jersey said)
