I use Wordpress(hosted on my own domain though), they offer a lot of functionality and flexibility for pretty much any type of site you want. Since you don't have much experience with designing websites you could use the free templates people make. I wouldn't integrate an ecommerce thing into your website if you don't know how sites work though, they are actually pretty complicated. It's probably easier to start an etsy shop or something first.

Why not use a pre build e-commerce package to make your own site... or use something like etsy to sell stuff? (there are probably more sites like that, that allow you to sell your own t-shirts)

I don't know. I'm a webdeveloper myself, so I don't use pre-build packages ^^

Did you have a look at any of the free packages that are available?
It all depends on how big you see your online shop.
Example site: [link]

Personally I'd "hang" myself to something bigger like 'threadless.com'.
Cause I think it's really hard to start something new on your own.
(unless you have an outstanding concept) <.<
