Where would be a good place to set up a webpage for my art?

:iconpapayastrife16:
I currently only use DA to post my artwork. It's hard to get attention here from people outside of the DA community, so I was wondering if anyone thinks making a Facebook page has been more beneficial? I just don't want my FB friends to find it when it's still desolate... ;p

So it's either that, making a website on wix (which I'm struggling to do... I'm not an official artist selling anything, I just want to display my work on a site that I can link), or making a Tumblr blog for it... any other ideas? The thing I like about FB is the display; Tumblr will just keep pushing work back and it won't be like a gallery. Then again, on Tumblr I can blog about my artwork and it would be more like a journal style, and there is a huge art community on Tumblr.

Any success with these websites or different ones? Thanks!

Other web sites you can use:
Facebook, sure :)
Shadowness.com
GFXartist.com
Elfwood.com (if you're a fantasy/sci-fi artist)
Behance.net (more suited to professionals)
ArtBreak.com
ArtWanted.com

Ah, Oh sorry. Not an official artist in any way. Well. Go with whatever. Tublr is AWESOME for image relogs.

All of them for networking but make your own personal portfolio homepage for yourself to which you can link to from all those places so that people and clients have somewhere to find our stuff at. That's what I would do if I wasn't slow as molasses.

Hosting is pretty affordable since it probably won't consume large amounts of bandwidth. Wordpress is easy to install and comes with pre-built templates and features. Again what I would do but haven't since I'm slow.

All right, I think I'll throw together a personal portfolio just to try it out! Thanks for the advice. :)
I agree on the Tumblr thing, but it's gathering followers I'm worried about... so I just submit to big art blogs instead haha.

You can use FB, but another reputable site is Carbonmade.com. It's super easy to use for a portfolio, and it's free up to a point.

Mine is [link] if you want to take a peek at how the basic account looks. I'm about two pictures shy of the free limit.

Love it! Thanks!
I'm not a fan of free limits though... :(
