Help and advice needed for a beginner in Art?!

Hi!

Like the title says, I'm a total beginner in Art,
I have drawn in the past, But I would love to advance in it,
I'm more of a Novelist and Photographer, I don't really draw as much as I did when I was younger,

Anyways what I am getting at is this: What's the best way to practice for a Beginner?
and how do I go about improving? :?

Any suggestions and hints will be very welcomed!

Practice. I always try to practice and practice the most difficult parts for me. I also love photography, and I get pretty good shots without having a good camera, so as soon as I have spare time (especially now, when school's over and you are supposed to get bored watching television) I go to my room, setmy canvas, my paint, my pencils, markers, tablet... whatever I can draw on, and turn on some music. Then I browse through the photos I made and try to draw them. In any media that you feel comfortable with. So, as you don't draw as much as I do, you should go on the street and look around. If your passion is photography, you'll see loads of things you can take beautyful shots of. Try new, difficult angles, don't be afraidto experiment.
Now, about the writing... I actually love it. But because of being a lazy person I never get to it. Then, my physical education (not sure if I spelled that correctly) teacher found out that I love writing and told me this: "I am writing a book. And if you focus, It won't be tedious. What you have to do is write 1 hour per day EVERYDAY. Supposing that you write 1 page per hour, in three months you are going to have 100 pages of your book, or even have it finished!".
There's one thing I am not agree with what other eople already said, you HAVE to judge your results. Especially when you are a beginner. I know how frustrating it can be sometimes, but you need to judge your work, if you don't, you will think: "It's okay, I'm just a beginner, I can't do better right now". That will lead you nowhere. If you think like that, you won't try better, or try to do you very best.
If I repated someone's words, it wasn't pretended.

I agree with LvK- look at everything. I have things to draw on/with all over the place, incl. my car so if an idea appears, I can at least make a quick sketch before it disappears into that void where ignored ideas go. Draw from life/observation, certainly, but I'd expand that to draw what interests you...from books, from your imagination- get down with your Nike self- as the old ads used to say- "Just do it."

And as you said- you're just beginning- so don't judge your results.

Draw from real life and study anatomy. Research videos and tutorials on YouTube about Light and Shadow. Work on perspective as well, you'll find helpful videos on YouTube from MarkCrilley.
Here's one that I found helpful on light and shadows: [link]

Draw using the right grip. Any deviancy will come back and bite you in the ass later, trust me. Draw with more than just your wrist, as someone told me a day ago, and... draw atleast 3 hjours a day to get your 10,000 hours in faster.
