how do you make icons to use on DA and how do you post comments with them

exactly what the subject line says. I need help. I havent used DA since i was 14 and im 20 now. I cant remember to save my life how to make icons and how to use them in the comments i post. I see people using them all the time and i cannot figure out how to do the same. Help please.

People make empty accounts and links to them with the regular user icon tag. I think its too much work for so little myself.
