To get the price of a painting you get its area in square inches, multiply that by anywhere from 1 to 3 times, squint at the price, say "nobody's buying this thing for that much", wander around some local galleries/shows/cons to see what other people are charging in your area and then pick a random number that allows you to feel like you might sell it and still be able to sleep at night.
This took me a few nights, like maybe 10 nights worth of work. This canvas is huge!!! and I made the canvas myself, I bought wood, stretched out the canvas on it, covered it, and everything. Then painted it. <3
You can calculate how much it's worth yourself, you simply need to put a value on your time (and only you can truly do that). So, here's a quick and dirty formula:
Cost of materials (You should always cover your costs at the very, very bare minumum) + (Amount you feel one hour of your time is worth x number of hours spent on work) + A little extra 'cause you're obviously awesome and worth it = Amount you should charge.
So, as an example we'll say 2 hours a night @ $8/hr with a materials cost of $75 (your amount may differ greatly of course)
Hmmm, that's what I was wondering, but if I were paid by the hour, that wouldn't be fair because some artists take FOREVER on their art, you know?
I'm a quick painter, I can get my paintings done in one night (about 5 hours at the most). And let's not forget Bob Ross, who can make a masterpiece within 28 minutes.
So being paid by the hour is kind of not the way it should work. Maybe I can get an idea of how much the painting is worth. But I just don't know the range of prices canvas paintings take. Dx

The painting is a mix of The Sephirotic Tree of Life: [link] And Edward Elric's Gate (from Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood): [link]
How much should a giant painting like this be? <3
