I want to ship some paintings as gifts and one that I've sold. I don't know how to safely and cheaply ship an acrylic painting. I already know putting plastic next to it might damage the painting...
You basically build a little wooden rack that keeps the painting from the sides of the box it's shipped in. Usually with at least a cross in the center to make sure the box can't be smooshed into canvas, but if it's really small you might not need one. You just basically want to make sure nothing can dent the painting. If it's worth a lot obviously get insurance. There's a picture that illustrates how to make what I'm poorly describing, you should be able to google it.
It's 4"x5". Very very small. It's not worth much money wise. I can't really afford to send it in the best way possible. I was hoping there was a cheaper way to do it because the canvas is so tiny.
I see, well if it's that small it'd probably be okay with a little board on each side, some cushioning, and box it up! I mean chances are it'd probably be fine with just the cushioning at that size but the boards would make sure if the box was smooshed it wouldn't damage the painting.
So...how do you ship a small acrylic painting?
