should I make a facebook fan page?

I'm considering making a facebook fan page for my art as a couple people have suggested it. But is there any reason to do a fan page when I've already got my regular facebook page for socializing (where I also post my art?) I'm almost afraid that if I make a fan page, I'll actually lose viewers because I've got a good number of fb friends, and if I make a fan page and start posting my art there instead, only the few who follow me will end up seeing it. Does that make sense?

Anyway, if you've got a fb fan page, tell me about it. Is it worth it? Is there any tips you can give me about it?

I have a facebook fan page as well as a regular page, and I post images of my art on both. I actually get some pretty good feedback and suggestions by posting on facebook. Definitely worth it.

I don't think you'd lose followers... what I do with mine is post them on my fanpage then tag my personal profile so it shows up for my friends too. I do have a different set of followers on there than here. It's especially helped when I tag friends that I've done portraits of or something then their friends I don't know will often times follow my page, more so than my actual "friends" The jerks =P a lot of them actually haven't liked my page yet and they're supposed to be my real friends.
I definitely don't get as much exposure there yet as I do here but I think the more of an internet presence you have the better

Thanks for the feedback. It sounds like I might as well go for it. I do agree with you, the more internet presence the better, but I have to prioritize...when I post a new drawing on a forum, for instance, I'll usually throw in a "if you like this, see more of my work at www.bradutterstrom.com", but it seems a bit spammy to say:
"if you like this, check out my website, deviantart, untappedsource page, facebook, and twitter!" lol

That's up to you.
And you can post your works both in your own personal account and the page.
