((First off...if you're going to go on about how fan art is always so bad and unoriginal, then don't bother. Thank you. ))

Okay, so the 4 years I've been on this account, I've never done any proper fan art at all and I would really like to do some because it's something people can relate to and talk about and it's usually a really nice thing. :)

I've been so busy recently so I've fallen out of touch of popular series and recent trends so my question to you is:
What series do you like right now?
OR
What tv or film series have you always liked?

I need to get into watching some more things.
Been there are done that with the Moffat's boys (Dr.Who and Sherlock <3 )
Tell me what you like and why? :)

Thank you. <3

Besides (as you've mentioned) Moffat's kids, Harry Potter is still pretty popular. The Hunger Games was a thing a while ago, and Hobbit fan art will probably be in soon.

I draw fanart because I'm not trying to become a character designer, I'm trying to become a comic book artist. The pros that I've shown my work to respond to established characters more because they're familiar with the way they should look. I also sometimes do them for fun and practice. That said, not everything I do is fanart.

I dunno if you like manga, but I don't watch television much.
Here's some that I enjoy: Mail, Wild Act, The Drifting Classroom, Nana, Mushishi, Girlfriends ...

Some of them are kind of obscure though, so I doubt fanart of them would receive much love from people. However, really my suggestion is to make fanart of something you enjoy even if it doesn't have a massive fandom, because that will probably be more enjoyable.

Fan Art is my favorite type of art to do. It gets a good amount of attention even from those who don't normally appreciate artwork. It's also more challenging to me than drawing say a made-up landscape from my imagination. It's hard to get celebrities/icons to look exactly like they're supposed to.

I love fanart!...mainly cause I lack the imagination to make good OCs or abstract things and cause it's fun. Anyway, series I like:

Death Note
Pokemon
Sonic the Hedgehog
Big Bang Theory
Harry Potter
Maximum Ride
The Hunger Games
Winx Club
And Care Bears, can't forget Care Bears

These are just a few most random examples, I'm also currently working on drawing the Disney Princesses, but warping them a bit so they're all evil and psychotic :L

That's really cute. :3
I like all of them but Max Ride, THF and Winx Club because
I've never herd of them or just never got round to watching or reading them. D':

I love the princess from the princess and the frog and apparently mulan counts too so yay!!!
Oh cool, I think I've seen that some where. Mwahaha.

Yeah it can be fun, sometimes it does just show appreciation for those books, films and tv shows...that's why it's fan-art. :) <3
Some people don't always see it that way.
