Art Trades, Commishins, the like...How?

So basically,
I'm seeing these things a lot, and despite how long i've been on dA, im not sire how they work.
But I'm interested in doing one, expandign my art and such. But yeah, I'm not really sure about the details on the workings of 'em.
Help?

Art trade: you contact someone, or someone contacts you and offers to trade artwork for artwork.

Commission: someone is paid to make a specific art piece.

There are also free requests. A person takes ideas that other's have and draws them for practice.

Having peeked at your gallery, you look like you are in the free request stage. Unless you have someone off DA inquiring if you will draw something for them.

The first thing to do is to determine what you want to offer.

Do you want to offer drawings, or designs?
Will you be coding journal-skins for people, or will you be pixeling?

Art trade: Someone draw what you want, you draw what he/she wants.
Commisions: Someone pays you, either by points or real cash (via Paypal), then you draw what he/she wants.
