Refining Digital Painting Edges-Needs Help Finishing Paintings

Hello, as I was looking through my digital paintings, I began to realize that they have little refinement around the edges. Does anyone have good advice for really cleaning up and refining a digital painting? I've been slowly progressing, but I still really don't understand how to make them look finished. My physical paintings have clean refined edges compared to them, I'm beginning to realize how different each of the media's really are. Please help if you have any advice for a beginner digital painter, anything at all would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Get a brush with solid edges, go in, paint. Its nothing crazy technical, just time consuming :) Patience is the key.

Thanks, I'm always in a hurry I really need to remember that.I always feel like even the harder brushes give me a blurry edge.

That doesn't make much sense, perhaps you're on too much of a low opacity.
