Where to get royalty free backgrounds?

I see that many people have good backgrounds for their art pieces but dont make them. Is there a place where you can get them?

You're also assuming that they didn't make them. It's not that hard to make a texture or pattern.

If you google "free patterns for designers" or "free textures" you'll get a lot or sites or design blogs with textures that are free to use.
