This is only the second bit I've done that's focused more on the scenery than the character/animal. Improvement from my first one, but I'd like to know what to focus on when doing this kind of work.
Not bad, keep at it as practice is the key. Study your environment. Take notice of the texture of rocks, trees and the like. There's no shame in using photo textures especially starting out. This can help you see how textures create depth and realism. You have the basic idea how lighting is cast but the colors are a bit oversaturated in the foreground. Snow will take on a less yellow hue as the light spreads and thins. Keep at it. It's a good start.
