Uploading digital paintings

If there is a thread like this one, I'm sorry, i couldn't find one that fully answered my question.
when I upload stuff it changes, like that:

the left one is the uploaded to deviantart, the fullview is the original resolution
the right one is the original, and it is also a tiny bit changed by imageshack! in the original everything is quite smooth
my question is, what should I do to avoid or minimize that effect?
there was something about color profiles but i don't get that :/

I agree with weremole. You could also try saving it as a .png file to see if that helps.

I've tried that, it's still the same. smooth on PC, edgy on the Web. it's as if the website coverts it to lower quality jpg

Size it down for the web yourself instead of relying on DAs own resize algorithm.
