I'm about to start selling this style of chibis (I only have 2 samples at the moment, this will be the level of quality and everything as the advertied product) [link] and [link]
I want to start trying to sell it for real money, but I don't know how much to charge... :/ I'm thinking 5 bucks but other people have lower quality art selling for much more.
That's ridiculous. Price in the real world is based on skill level, and to some point, notoriety.
If it takes a great artist one hour to paint a spectacular work, why on earth would they expect less money than the beginner who struggles for weeks to create something half as good?
If you can toss it off in five minutes, great! You're ROI is higher. (It also speaks of years of practice to get to that point, which is also being paid for.)
Nowadays, it seems the community is more focused on pricing things according to the time and effort that went into them rather than the actual quality.
Then they make a big fuss when people question about it otherwise!
5 bucks seems fair for now. If they do sell at that price point, then you can start looking at increasing the price point.
Ah i'm at a rare point where Im pretty happy with my style and i know that i do put appropriate effort into my works. So now that i got that out of the way i just have the problem of pricing. And thank you, i'll try it like that then u.u
