How do I color a vector in Paint Tool Sai?

I just got this program so bear with me.

I made vector lineart. It's all nice and pretty now, but I'm going for typical, stylized chibi style, with gradients, shading, etc. Not A Scanner Darkly style. So how do I do that?

Everything I've found so far only shows me how to do cell-shaded vector style.

Can I just color normally or what?

Of course you can color it normally. Just because many cell shade it doesn't mean it can be painted normally. The default brush you use can be the same as photoshop or any image editing program you use.

Shading and coloring is more about the color theory and light then the program itself.

No, I understand that. I was just unsure of whether or not the vector and raster aspects would be compatible when the image is finalized. Thank you! :)

Oh, well. I know the final image will converted to a raster image anyway, or Im not sure what your asking.

Or you can save it as .sai or Im pretty sure there is a .psd there too.
