Urgent help needed with logo

Hello, I'm a graphic design student and I need help with a logo. I have a very low res. image of this logo and I need to convert it to a high res one. The image is so pixelated that it's making tracing with a pen tool on illustrator impossible. It's a very intricate design. Please help? :(

you have no option but to trace it with pen or you can try live trace it on illustrator and then tracing it with pen on illustrator
don't use Photoshop for logos only Illustrator to make it traceable, I think that some jobs it may be nearly impossible to get it as good as the original logo so you can try speaking about that with your client. if it's a stylized logo(photoshop styles) try doing the basic shapes and then move onto working on the styles.I hope that helps

Thank you for your help. It couldn't be fixed though :( Spoke with the client, he understood. :)

If you copy it onto a 300 dpi document and trace over it you can at least blow up the traced version without too much pixelation. Other than that not much can be done...

I'm not sure there's a way for someone else to help here with homework, find a 'comfortable' zoom level and try your best.

You can try increasing the image size and DPI (300 recommended) in photoshop but that won't make it look better, just perhaps easier to zoom in and trace.

No problem, I hope I could be of help at least.
Or that wasn't beaten to the punch.
