Sai Paint Tool Canvas Limit

Hello there, I need help.
There is someone who wants to commission me art to fill a 1000 x 750 cm poster in her store. I use Sai Paint Tool and the limit on that is about 26.45 x 26.5 cm or 1000 x 1000 pixels. Is it even possible to do this commission?? :(

It is possible, but it depends on how big is your ram memory. I have 2gig and my bigest canvas on SAI is 5000x6000 ewe

Oh... you just bruised my ego!!! DX Haha but yeah, no, I'm not going to be able to get to do it. :( I work from my 3 year old laptop. It works fine, but I don't have that much memory to work from. :)

jajajajaj well, my computer has 3 years too. Of course, i can opena new file with that size, but it will made the computer crash D:
I usually work under 4000x4000, generaly just 1000x1500.
Maybe we need a new one? jajaja

You can change the maximum canvas size in
Others(O) - Options(O) - Workspace Usage

Sai will even give you recommended size based on the amount of memory you have.

With 8 gigs, My recommended size is about 8000*8000
A poster of that size at 72ppi would be about 30000*20000

For work like this, you'll need a better machine and professional software.

or...if the poster is going to be veiwed at a distance, you could reduce the resolution to 15ppi, making it about 6000*4500

Thank you! :3 Unfortunately I work from a laptop, not a computer. But thank you so much! That helped a lot! :D I didn't understand how ppi and size could enlarge or reduce the image but now I think I do! Thank you so much! :3

No, you can't do 1000 x 750 cm with decent PPI in SAI. What you can do is to do the invidiual elements and then glue it together in photoshop or gimp later.

I know ive done much larger pictures, but it just works... I usually import a picture to work on, maybe you just have to bring in a 1000x1000 picture then just erase whats on it and work with the blank space left.

Maybe you can find a massive picture. But no really, i think a file that big would be really hard on your computer. I know Photoshop can handle something that big, but your going to need a good computer. I can send you the trial for Cs6.
