I really have a hard time drawing hands traditionally and digitally and i was wondering if i could have any advice for making my hands more portioned and not look like mickey mouse hands.
For any subject that you draw, it is important to understand how it is constructed first before you go into detail. For example, if you want to make a nice pose, it is best to start with just a stick figure (or, the said squares and rectangles next) just to study it and figure it out in your head. Once it clicks what the most important points are, it is easy to add 'detail' such as muscles and skin in any way you want. Basically, if you have a solid stick figure, you will have a solid figure. Same with hands - you have to understand HOW they work before you try to draw them. It takes a bit of practice
Thank you!
