I'm trying to get better in Digital Art, mostly digital painting but I don't know how to make it stand out like the colors to pop out or make it awesome or any other techs to make the contrast better, the coloring to stand out or just anything in general. I usually copy the master copy 3 times in Photoshop and put in Multiply > Overlay > finished but sometimes when lowering the opacity it becomes way too bright or way too dark.
these are examples Art is done in Paint tool sai Finished in PS in terms of dimension and contrasting.
Definately try painting in greyscale - I started doing my base sketches in greyscale and it instantly helps you see differences in contrast more - I wont go back to doing colour sketches now. Once your painting is coming together, you can use colour/ hue saturation and other filters to block in base colours, then continue to paint on top in colour. Also pay attention to the colour of your light source - its not always white. Sunlight might add a faint yellow hint for example (your drowzee colour theory painting shows that off quite well though so you probably already know this). I would advise watching videos of other artists painting - best way to learn by far
Katara is right here, you need to learn how colours work. Theres a website ( You'll have to google, I cba ) which gives you a collection of colours, for room pallets etc but if you're struggling perhaps that would be a good place to start.
Also try and work on a grey canvas first, so you can see how the light/dark shadows work. Not sure if you do, of course but its a really valuable piece of advice.
One thing that might help you is to study some color theory. Having a good color scheme in your piece can really make it pop. Another thing you might want to study is how shadows effect different colors, they don't always just get darker. Sometimes a blue can darken to a purple, rather than a darker blue, and lighten to a pale greenish color rather then white.
Oh what you said have now made me realise you is right thanks stranger whom I do not know I will now apply this to my thinking of colour theory and artwork
